Bonacic invites nominations for state Veterans’ Hall of Fame

ALBANY — State Sen. John Bonacic (R/I/C – Mt. Hope) invites nominations for the induction into the New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame from the 42nd Senate District.
The online Hall of Fame represents extraordinary New Yorkers whose heroism in the United States armed forces is complimented by their service to the people in their community.
The New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame was created to pay tribute and celebrate exceptional veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves, both in military and civilian life.
The veteran selected from the 42nd Senate District will participate in a ceremony followed by a luncheon held on May 20 in Albany. The photograph and biography of each honoree across the state will become part of a special online exhibit which tells the stories of the many contributions veterans make during and after their time in military service.
Essential information
Bonacic's district includes towns in Delaware, Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties. Among the communities in Orange County are the towns of Deerpark, Goshen, Greenville, Hamptonburgh, Minisink, Mount Hope, Tuxedo, Wallkill, Warwick and Wawayanda; and the cities of Middletown and Port Jervis.
To nominate a veteran, send an email to Bonacic’s office at Catania@NYSenate.gov explaining the reason the nominee should be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Nominations must include a biography of approximately 250 words along with the veteran’s rank and file at time of discharge or end of military service.

Nominations must be received no later than April 11.
