WARWICK — On Saturday, April 20, Father Angelo Micciulla (pronounced mit-chew-la), parochial vicar at Warwick’s R.C. Church of St. Stephen the First Martyr, joined a formation of approximately 70 motorcycle enthusiasts, led by Warwick Police, on a 60 to 70 mile ride through local country roads.

This was the second annual motorcycle blessing and ride.

Just before the ride and after a brief general blessing, Pastor Rev. Michael McLoughlin and Micciulla blessed each of the bikes individually.

Some of the motorcycle enthusiasts only came for the blessing but most joined the formation for a scenic ride through the Town of Warwick ending with all-you-can-eat burgers, hotdogs, salads and soda for $25 at Pennings Orchard and Farm Market, Route 94 South in Warwick.

Everyone who participated also received a free T-shirt.

Micciulla, who was assigned to St. Stephen’s Parish early last year, is also the chaplain of the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Shamrocks Motorcycle Club.

Originally founded as a club for Federal Law Enforcement Officers, the Shamrocks, headquartered in Vermont, now has membership containing and open to all United States law enforcement officers without regard to level of government.

Many of its members were on hand to support Micciulla who invited his teenage niece to ride with him on his Victory Cross Country Tour machine.

Micciulla was happy with the turnout and hopes it will increase in years to come.

The Shamrocks Motorcycle Club and Pennings Orchard and Farm Market sponsored the second annual motorcycle blessing.
