PINE ISLAND — The Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery, located at 114 Little York Road in Warwick, recently installed a custom-made 60-foot tall copper still at the new production facility in Pine Island of the Black Dirt Distillery.
The distillery is a spin-off company of the winery.
As dozens of people looked on, a 100-ton crane hoisted the still 120 feet in the air while owners Jason Grizzanti and Jeremy Kidde and the operating crew completed the installation.
The new still will be used in the production of Black Dirt Bourbon and Black Dirt Apple Jack, two new products in the distillery’s repertoire.
