Baird's Tavern donates $5,125 to Warwick Historical Society

WARWICK — Baird's Tavern owners Adam Powers and Johnny Barounis recently welcomed Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce and Warwick Historical Society members for an after hours mixer.
During the evening Powers and General Manager Sarah Colley presented Warwick Historical Society board members with a check for $5,125 donated from sales of their tavern mug memberships.
Since the doors of Baird's Tavern opened this past October, patrons have been joining the special membership program.
The exclusive tavern mug membership entails having a personalized engraved pewter tankard from England as well as privileges at the tavern that include drink discounts and admission to special events.
The membership also includes a one-year complimentary membership in the Town of Warwick Historical Society. That membership includes free and unlimited entrance to buildings and tours, invitations to society lectures at discounted prices or free of charge, subscriptions to the society newsletter and a 10 percent discount for property rentals and Historical Society purchases.
Tavern patrons can purchase a membership for $100 and choose what they would like engraved on their mug, which will then hang on display in the tavern.
"Tavern Tankard memberships provide funding for Baird's Tavern and Warwick Historical Society legacy to live on," said Powers.
Tavern Tankard members are invited to relax with their tankards while sitting at a solid maple replica of an old time "Cage Bar."
And every Wednesday they receive $1 off each beer at the weekly Mug Night.
Baird's Tavern, 103 Main St., is open Monday to Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m.
