WARWICK — Baccalaureate, an inter-faith religious service hosted by the Warwick Valley Ecumenical Council, will take place at The Church of St. Stephen on Thursday, June 21, at 7:30 p.m.

The service will include song, prayers and well wishes to the members of the Class of 2012 as they begin the next chapter of their lives. Families are welcome to attend, and no tickets are needed.

The baccalaureate, a celebration honoring the graduating high school senior class, has become a traditional part of the graduation tradition. Started at the University of Oxford in 1432, the baccalaureate is a service of celebration and thanksgiving for lives dedicated to learning and wisdom.

All seniors should report to the high school at 6:45 p.m. to pick up their graduation gowns and wear them to the service.

For more information, students and their parents may refer to the letter sent home by High School Principal Richard Linkens.
