Automotive show airs live on Orange County WTBQ Radio

WARWICK — The slogan is “Auto News from the Board Room - to the car in your driveway.”
Warwick resident Robb LoForese, a 30-year veteran of the auto industry, recently began hosting and producing Headline Automotive, a program offering information and discussions about cars and the business of distributing and selling them.
The show airs every Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. on WTBQ Radio (1110 AM/93.5 FM).
Many local residents may remember LoForese’s early association with Country Saab in the Village of Florida. However, he began his auto career in retail sales in the mid 80’s, worked through the Audi 5000 sudden acceleration crisis, sold off rental cars for National Car Rental, and served as Vice President of Volvo Cars of North America where he held key executive positions including carline development and North American sales.
“I’m very pleased to be back on the air at WTBQ radio in Warwick, a station that’s so important to our local community,” said LoForese. “and because we stream live on the Internet, my audience extends to friends in California as well.”
The weekly format of the new program includes industry sales data, in-focus brand discussions, consumer buying and leasing tips and special guests.
Several weeks ago, for example, LoForese interviewed Russ Radar, senior vice president for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), based in Arlington, Virginia.
“We discussed how to best decode crash data on new car window stickers and trends in driver and occupant safety,” said LoForese. “It was a great segment.”
WTBQ, which relocated last year to a new studio facility on Sanfordville Road, is owned by Frank Truatt who upgraded its broadcast quality, doubled the AM station’s power and added an FM frequency. WTBQ was also one of the first stations in the region to broadcast on the Internet.
“Headline Automotive is a very informative program,” said Truatt, “and it’s a must listen for anyone who owns a car and is concerned with how they are sold or leased and the cost of operation, especially these days with the price of gas.”
