ALBANY — Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,TCN-Deerpark)has been named Assistant Minority Whip of the Assembly Republican Conference, and was reappointed as ranking Republican of the Labor Committee, as well as reappointed to numerous other committees.
“I would like to thank Leader (Brian) Kolb for placing his faith in me, and I am thrilled to accept this position as Assistant Minority Whip of the Assembly Republican Conference,” said Brabenec. “With New York City politicians now controlling both legislative chambers and the governor’s mansion, rallying and inspiring my colleagues to fight back against their dangerous proposals is more important than ever, and I will be sure to lead by example.
“Our caucus is one of the few roadblocks left between radical tax and spend politicians and the middle-class,” Brabenec continued. “As we near the opening of the 2019 Session, rest assured I will continue to beat the drum for property and school tax relief, infrastructure upgrades and an end to government corruption and bid-rigging.”
The leadership post comes as Brabenec, re-elected by a large margin this fall, is set to begin his third term when the legislature reconvenes in early January.
Brabenec represents the 98th District, which includes the towns of Deerpark, Greenville, Minisink, Warwick, Tuxedo, Monroe and Ramapo.
