— The Warwick Valley School District Art Department will sponsor a gallery-hopping art show on Friday, May 3:

The elementary and middle school art show will be held at the district office from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Then hop up to the High School lobby for the Rock-n-Roll Art Show and Chair Auction, beginning at 6 p.m.

The young artists have been working for several months to transform an ordinary chair into a work of art. The chairs will be auctioned off to the public with all proceeds going to graduating seniors in the form of art scholarships.

The chairs are painted in a style of an art movement, style or a particular artist. The 20-plus chairs range in style from The Avengers and The Walking Dead chair to a beautifully rendered Fairy Chair and a Star Wars Imperial Speeder Bike chair.

The junior and senior portfolio class and a few other juniors and seniors as well as art department faculty members will be participating in the event. The chairs will be on display before the auction in the high school lobby.
