WARWICK — On Sunday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the town of Warwick will welcome thousands of visitors to the 24th annual Applefest.
And what would the festival be without its annual apple pie baking contest? This traditional event is open to all in celebration of the bountiful apple harvest in the area.
Entries will be judged in two categories:

The Junior division for bakers age 16 and under.
The Senior division for those age 17 and older.

Essential information

Entrants must attach a 3-by-5 inch index card to their baked pie, including their name and phone number, Junior or Senior division, type of apple used and the recipe ingredients.
No pre-registration is needed.
Apple pies should be dropped off on the day of Applefest, between 8 and 11:30 a.m. at 2 Bank St., in front of the attorney’s office.
When judging is completed at approximately 1 p.m., pies will be sold by the slice. Proceeds from the sale of apple pie slices will go to the Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry.
