Apple and pumpkin season in full swing

WARWICK — The weather may not have been ideal during this past Columbus Day weekend but nevertheless, the increase in local traffic and the huge crowds was a good sign that Warwick's annual apple picking season is in full swing.
And local orchards will be open for pick-your-own-apples daily until early November.
Some, like Apple Ridge Orchards on Jessup Road in Warwick, also offered a large selection of pumpkins.
Visiting many of the farms has become a traditional family outing, especially for people living in the heavy populated boroughs of New York City and the surrounding Metropolitan area.
