Another sign of spring: Village of Warwick schedules trash pick-up

    WARWICK — The Village of Warwick will begin a spring pick-up of household items the weeks of May 7 and 14.

    These items include such things as: furniture, mattresses, rugs, etc. The village officials ask residents to place metal items separately for recycling purposes.

    The Department of Public Works crews will not pick up: garbage, leaves, brush, tires, barrels, paint, drain oil, newspapers, construction or building material, televisions, computer equipment or appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves.

    All items must be at the curb on the Monday of the week your area is scheduled for pick-up by 7 a.m. And once the area has been picked up there will be no return trips.

    The Village will be divided into two areas. The following are the dates and areas to be picked up:

    May 7 High Street, Church Street, Forester Avenue north of the railroad tracks, Colonial Avenue north side of Grand Street to the corporation line of Locust Street, Maple Avenue and all streets within the area.

    South side of West Street to the corporation line and Division Street, Howe Street and all streets within this area to the west side of Oakland Avenue and including Campbell Road

    Village Cove residents should contact their homeowners association as to where to place items.

    May 14 East side of Oakland Avenue to Forester Avenue at the railroad tracks to Galloway Road on the north side.

    South side of Galloway Road, Homestead Village area, Warwick Grove, Hawthorne Avenue, Overlook Drive, South Street Extension and Southern Lane to the corporation line.

    Brady Road, Gordon Terrace and Ridgefield Road

    Residents of Warwick Grove and Homestead Village should contact their homeowners association as to where to place items.
