WARWICK — On Sunday, Sept. 24, "Game of Skate: Future Skate," a competition and festive event held at the Robert J. Newhard Skate Park in Veterans Memorial Park, raised $188 for Project Knomad.
The fund raiser was cosponsored by the Sesquicentennial Committee and donors included Cool Suppliers, ShopRite and Warehouse Skateboards.
Project Knomad, inspired by local artist and skateboarder Ian Sharp, who passed away in 2012, is an entity of coordinators, facilitators and skaters who come together to skate, create and enhance community experience.
Proceeds after expenses go toward the next event, which will be a live music concert in the spring at the Warwick Valley Community Center.
