WARWICK — Friends of Warwick Valley Humane Society have announced that Orchard Grove Animal Hospital in Warwick has become the organization’s first corporate friend.

Practice owner Dr. V. John Ludmerer’s donation, made in memory of pets that have passed during the month of September, will go directly to help care for homeless animals in the local community.

Ludmerer has been practicing veterinary medicine for 15 years, and in 2007 designed and built Orchard Grove Animal Hospital to provide comprehensive veterinary care including wellness, emergency care, surgery and pain management.

Orchard Grove Animal Hospital also is helping to raise funds by hosting a series of public service seminars given by local positive dog trainer, Leslie Wiesner of It’s Your Dog. All donations will benefit Friends.

Other local businesses that have reached out to provide support to Friends include Bixby & Co., Gaia’s Garden and Warwick Grove.

Friends of Warwick Valley Humane Society was established earlier this year to raise funds and awareness through education and performance on behalf of the animals and the incredible staff and volunteers at the Warwick Valley Humane Society.
