Albert Wisner Public Library construction project update

WARWICK — The Albert Wisner Public Library has undertaken extensive site work with its parking lot extension, exterior lighting and outdoor seating and performance area project.
The project has slowed over recent weeks. In a press release detailing the situation, library officials said there are several reasons for this:
• First, there were intense rain events during a time when initial earthwork was being installed.
• Second, the lower portion of the new parking area contained soils that had to be structurally reinforced for future parking.
• Logistical problems with materials and labor have also been encountered.
The library is working to move forward with the project and will keep the community posted on the project’s progress.
In the press release, the Board of Trustees asked the public "for continued patience with this process and to please continue to exercise caution in and around the library's exterior grounds and parking lot. They are confident the finished product will be worth the wait."
