AARP Tax Aide Services for all ages returns to the Greenwood Lake Public Library in February

GREENWOOD LAKE — The Greenwood Lake Public Library at 79 Waterstone Road will serve as an AARP Tax Aide site on Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the following dates:
• Feb. 11 18 and 25;
• March 4, 11, 18 and 25; and
• April 1 and 8.
Starting in February, all community members in New York (or New Jersey), regardless of age, can schedule an appointment calling 211 (or 1-800-899-1479) and have their taxes prepared and filed online by IRS trained specialists for free.
Be sure to mention that you are requesting an appointment for the “Greenwood Lake Library” location.
Each appointment can take up to two hours and patrons must call the above Tax Aide number direct not the library itself.
Scheduled participants should bring the following items with them to an appointment:
• Photo I.D. required for all taxpayers;
• Income: W2, Unemployment, SSA-1099, pension, IRA or annuity distribution (1099-R);
• Payment: Federal or State Income paid (including quarterly est. tax payments);
• Deductions: 1098 form showing home mortgage interest, paid property, tax bills, charity donations, medical/dental expenses;
• Health Insurance: 1095A, B or C forms, if applicable;
• Credits: Dependent care provider information, 1098-T/1098-E (Tuitions/Loans);
• Last year’s tax return (s);
• Social Security cards/other official documentation for yourself/every individual on your return;
• Checkbook, if you want to direct deposit any refund(s);
