A sea of flags

Each of the 1,621 flags outside the Lazear-Smith and Vander Plaat Memorial Home, located at 17 Oakland Ave. in Warwick, represents a veteran who has passed away in this community. The flags were placed by Matt Vander Plaat 14, his brother Jack, 9, Skyler Paladino 7, Olivia DiCostanza 14 and her brother Ryan, 11.
