As part of the ceremonies, Carmine Garritano (far left) sang the National Anthem with the Warwick Valley VFW Post 4662 color guard.

David Solo, a 20-year-old runner from Warwick, was the winner of the 5K race.

10K Race Winner James Fitzgerald, 29, of Warwick, was the winner of the 10K race.

On Saturday, June 9, the fifth annual Memorial "HERo" 5K/10K, in memory of Lt. Col. Jaimie Leonard, was held at the Warwick Valley Middle School. Leonard was a Warwick Valley High school graduate who served in the Army for more than 16 years. She was killed in an insider attack on June 8, 2013, in Sharana, Afghanistan.
