This is the fourth year in a row that the owners of Lazear-Smith and Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick have planted more than 1,600 American flags on their front lawn along Oakland Avenue. Twenty new flags were added this year for the Warwick veterans who passed away during that time. The flags symbolize all the known veterans buried in Warwick cemeteries going back to the Revolutionary War. The flags were placed by Matt Vander Plaat 14, his brother Jack, 9, Skyler Paladino 7, Olivia DiCostanza 14 and her brother Ryan, 11.
