Lions bring bunnies to the hospital for siblings of newborns

Members of the Warwick Lions Club decided it would be a nice idea to deliver chocolate rabbits to the Kennedy Birthing Center at St. Anthony Community Hospital, thinking some new mothers might not have time to make Easter baskets for their children, and having the goodies on hand at the hospital might help them. Dawn Murtagh, Warwick Lions Club president, handed over two dozen large Easter Bunnies to Diane De Freest, left, OB/GYN nurse manager; Margie Hawkins, RN; Liz Brady, RN; Jane Pavlu, LPN; Irene Eason, secretary; Murtagh; Cindee Pascal, RN; Tom Brunelle, Bon Secours Warwick Health Care Campus executive vice president/administrator; and Valerie Longfellow, RN. “We realized that in these circumstances parents may not have time to go out and prepare for Easter in a way they would like,” said Murtagh. “We hope this will help them to continue enjoying this tradition.” To learn more about the Warwick Lions Club, visit www.warwicklionsclub.org.
