Warwick - Albert Wisner Public Library has received a $10,646 grant from the state Department of Education that is being used to fund interior renovations. The remodeling, which should be completed by January, will reduce overcrowding by consolidating the computer and staff work area. The remodeling also will include enlargement of the seating capacity on the second floor; it also will create a popular new materials section that will be more accessible and easier to browse. “The current library building is 76 years old and no longer meets the needs of the community, but the reallocation of space will improve the efficiency and comfort for the staff and patrons until such time as a new building can be constructed,” Library Director Rosemary Cooper said in a press release. The contract was awarded to Stone Bridge Building Corporation of Warwick; work began on Nov. 14.
