Library offers free job consultations

    PORT JERVIS — Individual job consultations are being hosted this fall by the Port Jervis Free Library, along with a number of other libraries the county. The consultations will provide tools to help secure a job in today's difficult employment market. Participants will meet one-on-one at the library with a career development counselor, Ann Marie Khaled. In a one-hour session, she will offer specific, practical advice on creating a job-ready resume, removing barriers to employment, and acing the interview. Career development counselor is a consultant with experience in helping job seekers polish their skills to enter the work force. Consultations will be available on: Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The library is located at 138 Pike St. in Port Jervis. An appointment is required. Preference will be given to Port Jervis patrons, but a waiting list will be available for non-residents. To register call 856-7313. The Ramapo Catskill Library System's "Help For You Job Consultations" is partially funded by a Coordinated 2011 Outreach Grant from the New York State Education Department, Division of Library Development.
