Legislature declares April as Autism Awareness Month

Lisa Currao, representing the parents in the group, made a presentation to the Orange County Legislature recently on what autism is, how it affects a family and how difficult it is many times to get the right educational opportunities for children, especially in their own districts. Afterwards, the legislators talked with the parents, asking what experiences they have had and how the Legislature could help them beyond just proclaiming April Autism Awareness Month.
