Leah Cerkvenik receives Warwick ‘Good Scout Award'

Warwick — Leah Cerkvenik, executive vice president and administrator of St. Anthony Hospital and the Warwick Health Care Campus, received the 2006 Warwick “Good Scout Award” from the Hudson Valley Boy Scout Council on Wednesday, June 7, at a cocktail reception at the Chateau Hathorn in Warwick. The award is presented to individuals who exemplify in their daily lives the ideals found within the Boy Scout Oath and Law. Eric Chamberlin, executive director of the council, stated, “We are delighted about the opportunity to honor and recognize Leah Cerkvenik for her wonderful achievements and commitment to the community. Leah represents all of the attributes of a good scout. She is a dedicated family woman, and a wonderful business and community leader.” Cerkvenik was appointed to her present position in 2000. She is responsible for providing leadership for St. Anthony Community Hospital, the Schervier Pavilion nursing facility, with rehabilitation and adult day health services, and Mt. Alverno Center, an adult home with assisted living services. The event was a fund-raiser to help the Hudson Valley Boy Scout Council to serve the nearly 10,000 young people involved in the counties of Orange, Sullivan, Dutchess, and Rockland counties, N.Y., and Eastern Pike County, Pa.
