John S. Burke Catholic High School recently inducted 24 juniors and three seniors into its National Honor Society. The focus of the evening was the four pillars of the society: leadership, character, scholarship and service. The guest speaker for the evening was Mike Carpentieri, a 2001 Burke graduate who now teaches at Chester Elementary School. Carpentieri touched on each of the four pillars but focused mostly on leadership. The new inductees took their oaths and received their medals and roses. The senior members of the National Honor Society were presented with their gold cords, which they will wear at graduation in June. Pictured here are the junior and senior members of Burke's National Honor Society who also attended St. Stephen-St. Edward Elementary School in Warwick.
