Three others also take out petitions Warwick — Village Trustee Bill Iurato will run again for the seat he has held for the past eight years. “I gave it a lot of thought after the holidays,” said Iurato. “I had lots of things going on last year and wasn’t sure if I would run but after vacation I decided I really want to.” In addition to losing a nearly lifelong friend last year, Iurato also expanded his business which took much of his time. Just two weeks ago, Iurato, 56, said he was pretty sure he would not run again. Tuesday night, he announced at the village meeting that he would indeed seek reelection. “I love working for the Village of Warwick residents,” said Iurato. “I’m doing the best I can and I hope to continue that.” Four independent nominating petitions have been requested from the clerk’s office so far for the March 18 election. After 100 signatures are collected, the petitions must be filed with the clerk between Feb. 5 and 12. In addition to Iurato, David Bartnowski, a builder and co-owner of The Inkwell, Michael Altman and Barry Cheney, a long-time member of the village Planning Board, have circulated petitions. Two trustee seats on the Village Board are up for grabs this year. The other incumbent, Roger Metzger, an 11-year veteran of the board, has announced that he would not be running. Anyone wishing to run may get an independent nominating petition from the village clerk’s office. The election will be held on March 18 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Goodwill Hook and Ladder Company on Church Street Extension.
