Internist joins St. Anthony staff

Warwick - Dr. Ralph J. Alvarez, a board certified physician in internal medicine, has joined the medical staff of St. Anthony Community Hospital, a member of Bon Secours Charity Health System in Warwick. He also is a member of Warwick Medical Associates at 5 Grand St., Warwick. Alvarez earned a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry from C.U.N.Y., Hunter College in New York City. He then received his medical degree as a physician/surgeon from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Alvarez completed his internship in internal medicine at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn and his residency at Staten Island University Hospital, where he also served as a fellow in surgical pathology. Prior to joining Drs. John Fiore, Stephen Hoverman and Shuang-Ping Wang at Warwick Medical Associates last year, Alvarez, who has lived in Warwick for the past 10 years, practiced medicine at Medical Care Associates in Succasunna, N.J. “This is his home town and we had been trying to recruit him to join Warwick Medical Associates for six years,” said his associate, Hoverman. “We’re very happy that he finally decided to come with us.” St. Anthony Community Hospital, a member of Bon Secours Charity Health System, is a non-profit hospital providing emergency, medical, surgical and obstetrical/gynecological acute care services to residents of southern Orange County, N.J., and Sussex County, N.J.
