Insurance agency opens in Greenwood Lake
Greenwood Lake On Saturday, July 30, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Greenwood Lake Mayor Barbara Moore and Michael Johndrow, executive director of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined Kevin Sweeney for the official grand opening of The Windermere Agency. Sweeney describes himself as a people person insurance agent and his new agency at 61 Windermere Ave. as an insurance agency with a heart. “It is the people that make a town,” he said, “and I knew I really wanted to help people get the best insurance and know their agent.” Sweeney began his career in financial service in 1972 on Wall Street where he stayed until 2000 when he felt he wanted to be in a more people-centered field. After a short stay in the auto business he decided to join AFLAC and, he added, “befriend a duck.” Eventually, he realized that he wanted to open a full service insurance agency in a small town. It took a long time to find the right location. “I wanted to be in a community, a home town not just a business district,” said Sweeney who lives in Bellvale with his wife, Kathleen. “And there, just a few miles from home and right under my nose, was Greenwood Lake.” Sweeney said that he and his team of insurance professionals promise to be always there for you when you need them. “They will first listen to you, and understand your needs,” he explained. “Then they will guide you through the various options, so that you understand the implications. And finally, they will help you select the right insurance. The first quick quote is not always the best quote.” The Windermere Agency offers a full line of insurance for home, auto, motorcycle, boat and RV as well as a full line of business insurance products from business owner policies to workers compensation and employee benefits.
