Inkwell bear has a new job

The bear outside The Inkwell, 46 Main St., Warwick, has been leading a busy life. Last December he was mugged one day but still managed to collect $619 for his furry friends at the Warwick Valley Humane Society. Now he’s dressed in colonial costume and back on the job, collecting for the Historical Society of the Town of Warwick’s educational fund. Place your donations in the tray and the monies collected will go toward the renovation of the Baird’s Tavern basement as an area for classes and workshops. He is pictured here with Historical Society director Sybil Skinner, left, and Carol Bartnowski, owner of The Inkwell. (Photo by Roger Gavan)
