Injured pedestrian released from Westchester hospital
Chester The pedestrian who was struck by a car on Kings Highway last week has been released from the hospital, according to Town of Chester Police Chief Brian Jarvis. “He was on his way here the next day to pick up his wallet and the car he was in got into another crash, but no injuries as far as I know,” Jarvis said. Jean G. Loubeau, 42, of Chester resident, was injured on the afternoon of March 1 when he was struck from behind by a vehicle as he walked along the side of Kings Highway, just north of Pond Road in the Town of Chester. He was flown to Westchester County Medical Center, with unspecified injuries, after the crash. Several witnesses reported observing a northbound SUV-type vehicle veer off the road and strike Loubeau as he walked. The vehicle continued northbound on Kings Highway without stopping. The Town of Chester Police arrived on the scene less than one minute after the crash and alerted police in surrounding areas of the description of the vehicle that was involved in the crash. A short time later the driver returned to the scene. Judith Masterson, 71, of Monroe was identified as the driver of the vehicle. Masterson reported that she was not injured. At this time no charges have been filed and the investigation is continuing. The Town of Chester Police were assisted at the scene by the Chester Fire Department and New York State Police. Loubeau was attended to at the scene by the Chester Volunteer Ambulance and Mobile Life Support and transported to Westchester County Medical Center by Stat Flight.
