Imelda A. Davis 1925-2005

    Edinburg - Imelda A. Davis of Edinburg died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at home following a long illness. She was 80. The daughter of Peter and Katherine Gaffrey McDonough, she was born on June 26, 1925, in Manhattan. She was married on Aug. 23, 1952, to James Davis Jr. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Queens College and received her Master's Degree from Hunter College. She was employed as a school teacher. She also was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sacandaga Garden Club and was a communicant of St. Francis Church and a member of the Rosary Society. She is survived by her husband; her three sons: James G. Davis of Montvale, N.J.; Robert F. Davis and wife Karen of Westchester, Pa.; and Brian M. Davis and wife Anne of Medina, Ohio; her daughter, Mary J. Luthin, and husband, William, of Warwick; her two brothers: Vincent McDonough of Vernon, N.J., and Frank McDonough of Palm Coast, Fla.; her nine grandchildren: William J. Luthin, Brian P. Luthin, Timothy D. Luthin, Kristen Davis, Jennifer Davis, Sarah Davis, Brian Davis Jr., Patrick Davis and Nicholas Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 31 at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Northville. Burial was in Robinson Cemetery in Edinburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
