If you build them, they will race

FLORIDA More than 40 members of Cub Scout Pack 44 participated in their annual Pinewood Derby on Jan. 28 at Golden Hill Elementary School in Florida.
Using only a block of wood, a few tools and some paint, the scouts created cars that included a wedge of cheese complete with a mouse driver, an army tank car, a Hershey Bar complete with a bite mark, cars honoring the Yankees, and Giants as well as many others.
American Legion Post 1250 representatives took on the task of judging these creative works in categories such as most imaginative and most patriotic. The days events also included matchbox car races, and a movie.
The scouts made a point of thanking Healy Brothers for the dealerships support and sponsorship; each scout received a racing cap to commemorate the day.
