Warwick — On Oct. 6 the Warwick Valley Humane Society formally dedicated the Dr. Joseph W. Adams Rescue & Recovery Center at the Warwick Valley Humane Society. This area was developed by his son and Animal Control Officer Tim Adams for the purpose of rehabilitation of displaced, injured or ill wildlife and farm animals. To date, this center has housed an injured fawn, stray sheep and homeless goats. This project was made possible by a $10,000 grant from the Warwick Savings Foundation and the donation of a shed from the Town of Warwick. The humane society was pleased to be honoring Adams, of Internationl Veterinary Service Clinic, because he has helped the society help many injured birds of prey like hawks, falcons, wild turkeys, as well as rabbits, swans, geese, fawns, goats, sheep, chickens and roosters. These are in addition to the unwanted dogs, cats, domestic rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, iguanas and hamsters. Adams not only provides veterinary care for these animals, but teaches the society staff about each animal as well.
