How did banking begin and how does it work today?

On Wednesday morning, June 7, a group of Warwick Valley High School seniors accompanied by economics teacher Holly Marcolina visited the Warwick Branch of Provident Bank. The teacher and students were welcomed by Tom Fitzgerald, assistant vice president, who then introduced them to other members of the staff and to Thomas Nash, vice president business development. Nash escorted the group on a thorough tour of the bank’s facilities as he explained the history of banking and how it is conducted today. Following the tour, everyone was invited for a continental breakfast in the employee lounge.
