Hospital names new head

    MIDDLETOWN —Scott Batulis has been named CEO of Orange Regional Medical Center. He started August 1. Batulis worked for the HealthEast Care System in St. Paul, Minnesota since 1987, where he was vice president and CEO of St. Joseph’s Hospital, one of the top 100 hospitals and top 100 cardiovascular hospitals in the country. Here he was accountable for the heart care and neuroscience departments and led the ambulance, hospice and outreach laboratory businesses. He also served on the Board of Directors for HealthEast Home Care. Batulis has also served as CEO of the Bethesda Rehabilitation Hospital; managed six nursing homes, five assisted living facilities, an ambulance company, a medical equipment company, a home health care agency and three retail pharmacies. Batulis holds a master’s of business administration degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota and a bachelor of science degree in long-term care administration from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American College of HealthCare Executives. Batulis has three children, Curtis, Evan and Alexis and will reside in Orange County with his wife, June, children and dog, Cookie.
