WARWICK - On Aug. 30, Terry Gavan, president of the St. Anthony Community Hospital Auxiliary (SACHA), presented her organization’s check for $23,000 to Leah Cerkvenik, executive vice president/administrator of St. Anthony Community Hospital. The donation, proceeds from SACHA’s 2006 Annual June Party at Hickory Hill Golf Course, will be used primarily to help fund the modernization and expansion of St. Anthony Community Hospital’s emergency room. Planned improvements are part of the overall modernization of the hospital to better serve the community’s healthcare needs. Part of the proceeds was also earmarked for the renovation of the garden at Mount Alverno Center. “The members of SACHA work very hard on our annual June Party,” Gavan said. “However, all our time and effort is worthwhile because of the valuable service to the community provided by St. Anthony Community Hospital and the Warwick health care campus. We wish to thank all our sponsors, the donors, our committees and all our committee chairs and volunteers. We are thrilled that our June Party was a success and that we were able to help improve the garden at Mount Alverno Center and expand the Emergency Department for our community hospital.” Other committee chairwomen for this year’s event were Jane Gyulavary, Peggy Arizmendi, Gloria Okon, Margie Meier-Berry, Diane Overby and Gladys Kaytes. Committee members included Dorothy Anderson, Joan Roche, Carolyn Denny, Rosanne Hart, Margaret Petlicka and Danielle Roche. “We are grateful for this generous gift and for the dedication and hard work performed by all the members of SACHA,” said Leah Cerkvenik, executive vice president/administrator of St. Anthony Community Hospital. “Throughout the years, SACHA has been instrumental in helping us purchase the latest equipment and improve our facility so that it can continue to provide the best possible health and wellness services for our community.”
