Honor All Fathers'

Members of the Warwick Women in Black held a silent vigil for peace in downtown Warwick on Father’s Day. “I am here today,” said Michael Kaufman, one of the vigilers, “because I feel for all the fathers in this country who have sons and daughters being injured and killed in an unjust and illegal war. I also feel great sympathy for the fathers of Iraq, whose children are being maimed and killed for no good reason. I feel that Congress is doing nothing to end this injustice and it is up to us to do whatever little thing we can locally to show how we feel about this terrible war.” The group held signs that read: “Honor All Fathers” and “We Need Them At Home.” Warwick Women in Black’s next vigil will be on Sunday, July 1, at 1 p.m. at the South Street parking lot, opposite the Farmers’ Market.
