WARWICK - Committee members of the Historical Society of the Town of Warwick are busy finalizing plans for the upcoming Annual Harvest to Holly Tour of the Society’s historic buildings. Members of the Warwick Valley High School History Club will be serving as lecturers or “Tour Docents” and all volunteers will wear creative costumes. The Historical Society’s “Sewing Crew” has been busy making red capes, for example, for docents who will carry lanterns on the night tour. On Saturday, Nov. 18, from 4-8 p.m., ticket holders will be given that lantern-lit guided tour of all the Society’s historic buildings in the Village of Warwick. Tickets, at $30 per person, for the guided tour are limited and should be ordered as soon as possible. On Sunday, Nov. 19, you can take a self-guided tour at your own pace from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The self-guided tickets are $20 per person, $15 for seniors and $10 for students. Also on Sunday, the History Club students will teach children who are on the tour, how to create “Tussie-Mussies,” a small, compact cluster of flowers with bound stems, using the native plants of this area. The students will also serve hot local cider and cookies at Baird’s Tavern where entertainment will be provided by “Synergy 4,” a group of Warwick Valley High School music students. Tickets are now available at the Gift Shop at Baird’s Tavern, Newhards, Peck’s Wine & Spirits and Style Counsel. Checks can also be mailed to The Historical Society of the Town of Warwick, 105 Main Street, Warwick, NY 10990. The Harvest to Holly Tour is a major fund raiser for the Historical Society.
