Warwick - An equipment malfunction during normal maintenance of the Warwick Valley High School’s swimming pool caused an accidental chlorine spill that prompted the evacuation of building on Wednesday afternoon, May 17. Three members of the custodial staff and a security guard were transported to St. Anthony Community Hospital by the Warwick Ambulance Corps for treatment of minor injuries that resulted from contact with the chlorine. No students were injured. The Warwick Fire Department controlled the emergency and, with the assistance of the Orange County Hazardous Materials Team, neutralized the spill by diluting it with a large quantity of water.
