Expert to discuss how towns can make a dog park Hamptonburgh — Marilyn Glasser, president of Parks and Pastimes in Brewster, will present “Dog Parks 101” at the monthly meeting of the Hudson Valley Leisure Services Association on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Graham Skea Lodge in Thomas Bull Memorial Park on Route 416 in Hamptonburgh. Glasser will discuss the benefits of a dog park, the components of such a park, and what factors communities must consider when planning one. She will also present some of the programs that such parks now provide. Glasser is a consultant with expertise in planning playgrounds, day camps, and entertainment, as well as dog parks. She has worked for the Town of Bedford and Ossining parks and recreation departments and in a number of day camp programs. Reservations are needed and may be made by calling Paula Gorton at 457-4902. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. The Hudson Valley Leisure Services Association is a membership organization for professionals from the municipal, commercial and therapeutic sectors of the leisure industry in Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, and Putnam counties.
