WARWICK - On Dec. 19, more than 100 Warwick Girl Scouts, ages 6 to 14, visited Schervier Pavilion to spread some holiday cheer to the residents of Schervier Pavilion. While part of the group entertained residents with Christmas carols, others traveled from room to room and to seniors gathered around the main lobby Christmas Tree, to present gifts that, for the most part, had been hand crafted by the girls. “We wanted the girls to understand that Christmas is about giving as well as receiving,” said Girl Scout Troop Leader Carrie Garloch. “We also wanted the girls to realize they were giving a special gift to a particular person.” Visits by Girl Scouts and members of other local organizations are a frequent and welcome experience for the residents as well as the administration and staff of Schervier Pavilion. “We are pleased that so many Girl Scouts were able to visit our facility to sing Christmas carols and bring wonderful gifts, said Schervier Pavilion administrator Michael Deyo. “The cooperation we receive from the Warwick community is outstanding and a constant source of joy for all our residents.” Additional information about Schervier Pavilion, Mount Alverno Center, Day-At-A-Time and St. Anthony Community Hospital is available on the Web at www.StAnthonyCommunityHosp.org.
