From Pine Island to Carnegie Hall

Fifth graders from Pine Island Elementary School performed at New York City’s renowned Carnegie Hall on May 23 as part of a state-wide program called LinkUp! The “Wildcubs” from Rob Kirschke and Jenny Augelli’s classes played their recorders along with students from other New York-area schools as they accompanied the Orchestra of St. Luke’s on classics such as Rossini’s “William Tell Overture” and Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture.” (Photo by Tom Hoffman)
