Free battery recycling at Invisible Fence in Warwick

WARWICK — Invisible Fence of Orange County in Warwick will offer free battery recycling for anyone with electronic pet fencing. This includes any pet owner with an Invisible Fence Brand system as well as any store bought or competitor’s system. “We are selling a product that requires the batteries to be replaced on a regular basis, so it only makes sense to give our customers a place to recycle them instead of tossing them in the trash or paying to have them recycled,” said owner Rick Fernandez. This recycling program is made possible by Toxco Inc, a battery recycling company founded in 1984 who recently launched the The Big Green Box program. It ships a UN approved container to any home, office or business that would like to become a drop off site. Each box can hold up to 43 pounds of sealed cell batteries including: nickel-cadmium, lithium-ion, alkaline, silver and mercury; it does not accept batteries filled with wet electrolyte such as car batteries.
