Warwick - Warwick Firefighters Joe Nuara, Kevin Kenny, Jared Fersko-Weiss and Greg Mazza recently graduated from Firefighter 1 training at the Orange County Fire Training Center. Firefighter 1 is a New York State course consisting of more than 100 hours of training to prepare new firefighters for the fire service field. From this starting point, the new graduates will continue their training within the Warwick Fire Department by attending any number of monthly hands-on drills and classroom scenarios, covering all aspects of rescue work and firefighting that are conducted by both the department and the individual fire companies. The firefighters also may attend any of the numerous courses offered during the course of the year by both the state and Orange County.
