WARWICK-Education has always been one of the keys in real estate to better serving clients. Four real estate agents from Century 21 Peck Realty recently completed a two-day course offered by the Orange County Board of Realtors to earn their Accredited Sellers Representative designation. Diane Massey, Grace Warren, Katheryn DeClerck and Donna Filipowski completed the course, which focused extensively on the Realtor Code of Ethics, meeting and understanding seller’s expectations, and bringing sellers and buyers together. “An ASR sales associate pledges to demonstrate ethical conduct and integrity in every aspect of their real estate practice, researches and prices property accurately, develops a detailed marketing plan for every listing, strives to enhance professional skills and much more,” said Cecilia Umhey, broker owner of Century 21 Peck. “Our entire sales force seeks opportunity to expand professional knowledge and to keep current on market trends continually making us a top performer in our market place.” Massey, Warren, DeClerck and Filipowski will receive the ASR designation after filing proof of the required number of closed transactions and letters of recommendations from past seller clients. Massey and DeClerck were also two of three agents from the Peck Realty office here in Warwick to attend Century 21’s annual “Top Agent Retreat.” Along with their colleague Kate Washington, the women attended the two-day conference for top sales associates within the Century 21 system. The conference was held at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. About 1,000 agents attended. While Massey said they had a wonderful time at the resort, expanding their real estate knowledge and networking, they also experienced tropical storm Rita. “The conference was from Sept. 16th to the 18th but we stayed two more days,” said Massey. “It was beautiful weather for the conference. But the next two days, with winds up to 50 miles per hour, were scary.” Invitations to the Top Agent Retreat are based on the number of homes listed or sold by an agent as well as their adjusted commissions earned.
