WARWICK — On Thursday, Sept. 15, Town of Warwick Deputy Supervisor James Gerstner, Mayor Michael Newhard, Garrett Durland, president of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce and Executive Director Michael Johndrow joined Jo Ann Daly for the grand opening of her new business, The Foot Spa and Tea Bar. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held outside the spa at 36 South St. near the corner of First and South Streets. The Foot Spa and Tea Bar offers Foot Reflexology while patrons enjoy complimentary teas. “Reflexology is a holistic technique that helps treat the entire body,” said Daly. “It can help with circulation and blood pressure, induce a deep sense of relaxation and help ease aches and pains among other benefits.” She explained that Reflexology involves the application of gentile pressure to specific points located on the feet. And these points, she added, relate to the internal organs, glands and structures of the body, Daly has been a massage therapist for 10 years and served as a supervisor for a large New Jersey spa before opening her own business. She and her husband Chris, a local electrical contractor, have lived in Warwick, where they raised their three sons, for 27 years. The Foot Spa and Tea Bar is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Although appointments are recommended, walk-ins are welcome. And private parties are now being arranged for the holiday season. For additional information or to make an appointment call 986-7174.
