Florida firefighters honor life-savers

The Florida Fire Department honored three firefighters and a civilian earlier this week for their roles in saving the life of a person who fell into frigid waters of Glenmere Lake back in February. During the fire department’s ice fishing tournament, a fisherman and his ATV fell into 10 feet of water, but he was quickly rescued thanks to the efforts of the four men. Firefighter Tim Brunswick and civilian Edel Paulsen received life-saving awards for pulling the victim from the water and then to safety. Captain James Bricker and Firefighter Jeff Babcock both received meritorious conduct awards for their supporting efforts. Pictured from left to right: 2nd Asst. Chief Tim Purta, 1st Asst.
