Firefighters invited to tell their stories

CHESTER — Firefighters can tell some interesting stories — stories about The Big One, or the way things used to be done. The Orange County Firefighters Museum wants to document these stories. Tony Donato of the Chester Fire Department will interview firefighters from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2. Each interview will take about 20 minutes. Firefighters will be asked: Highest rank achieved. Department or company. When they became a firefighter. How many years they served. Why they became firefighter. What has changed in firefighting since they joined. Words of wisdom for new firefighters. Participating firefighters will receive a DVD of their interview, which will be shared on the museum’s Web site www.ocfm.us and at the museum in an interactive display. Schedule an interview by visiting the Web site or calling Donato at 988-5041.
