The Florida Farmers Market opened for the season Tuesday, June 21. The market will open every Tuesday through October. The market will be offering two new programs this year, said Louise Schultz, the market manager. A "merchant of the week" space will be offered to crafts people, food vendors, farmers and others who may not want to commit to selling every week but want to participate in the market on a limited basis. A "community relations" table will offer Village of Florida merchants an opportunity to show and sell their wares. On Tuesday, Fine Architectural Metalsmiths of Florida was featured. "We want to publicize the businesses of downtown Florida," Schultz said. "Some of our customers are not aware of what the village has to offer." (Photo by David Gordon)
