Farina goes Internet interactive
Public invited to post comments Warwick - In an effort to bring the power of the Internet to the electorate, the Committee to Elect Judge Richard Farina has a new Web site that allows the public to post comments, testimonials and observations to the site. Farina is Warwick Village judge and the Democratic Party’s candidate for Orange County Court Judge. The public can now read what others are saying about Farina and add their own thoughts. “This is both a departure from the usual use of the internet by candidates” said Steven Carras, Farina’s public relations coordinator, “and a bold statement of the judge’s confidence in the public’s perception of him. I don’t know of another political candidate willing to invite such public scrutiny. While most candidates for public office have Web sites, few offer interactive ability and fewer still ask the public to post comments,” Carras said, “I have received very positive responses,” Farina said. “I believe the way I treat everyone who appears before me in court - with the utmost respect - is reflected in the postings.” In addition to sitting on the bench in the Village of Warwick, Farina, the former law secretary to Judge Angelo J. Ingrassia, has served in the City Courts of Middletown, Newburgh, Yonkers, White Plains and Beacon. He has been an instructor for Town and Village Justices for the past thirty years and was a director of the Magistrate Certification Programs from 1974 to 1999. He is also a past recipient of the Hon. Joseph F. Gagliardi Award for Excellence, awarded for his outstanding service to the public.
