Warwick — It’s now a tradition. Stella Mae Atkins, a five-year resident at Mount Alverno Center Adult Home and Assisted Living Program has a close and loving family that appreciates the good care she receives. And they are so happy with the Center’s staff that for each of the past five years her closest relatives travel to Mount Alverno to express their gratitude in a special way. “We host an annual lunch to thank the staff for being so kind to mom,” said Atkins’ daughter Linda Oettinger, of Albany. “It’s also a wonderful opportunity for our family to get together. And this past spring we even decided to have a birthday party for mom and we invited everyone at Mount Alverno as a token of our appreciation.” Mount Alverno Administrator Lisa Fedorka praises her staff for making sure that residents like Atkins are happy and feel at home. “Everyone loves their jobs and our residents,” she said. “I’m proud of them and I’m grateful to the Atkins family for coming here each year to show their appreciation.” Mount Alverno Center is part of the Warwick Campus of Bon Secours Charity Health System.
